What happens after you book your procedure with patient consultants at Miami Lakes Plastic Surgery?

  1. The first thing you should know right after you book your procedure, you will be sent a welcome package. It is incredibly important to read it. It is going to answer most of your questions that you will have for your surgery and is going to let you know everything that you can and cannot do before surgery.
  2. Within 30 days of your surgery you’re going to be sent a lab order. You can take this lab order to your doctor and that way you can get all the labs that you need.
  3. That is when you are going to be sending back your labs. You can either send them to the fax that we send in the lab order or send them to an email that we provide to you when we send you the lab order. Now, some doctors are more strict on what they need that require more testing while some don’t, based on surgeon, the procedure that you’re getting or medical conditions, there’s going to be different labs, so be aware of all 3 when it comes to your procedure, that way we have everything that we need according to you.
  4. After we receive your labs, you know you’re going to be receiving a phone call from our coordinators letting you know that you are cleared for surgery and that you can come over for Pre-Op. Pre-Op Is the day before your surgery and that is when you can meet us and talk about all your concerns and everything you need for your surgery the next day.
  5. After you come in for Pre-Op, which is the day before your surgery, you’re going to be taking a pregnancy test, a nicotine test and a drug test. If any of these tests come out positive we have to reschedule you for surgery. After that is when you’re going to be receiving the time for your surgery. Please be aware that you will also be taking another pregnancy, drug and nicotine test the date of surgery. The day of Pre-Op you will also be signing all your consent forms and paperwork. You are going to be signing the doctor’s consents, the anesthesia’s consents and the clinic’s consents, so be prepared for that.
  6. You Made It!!! It is Surgery Day! You’re gonna be seeing your doctor today! He’s going to mark you up for surgery and then you’re going to go under anesthesia and get into your surgery. Our operative rooms are fully equipped with doctors, our registered nurses, anesthesiologists, assistants and circulators. Patient’s safety is number one.
